How do I manage my podcast splits?

Splits allow everyone involved in your the podcast to receive a share of the revenue when a listener makes a payment using Lightning. You can add your co-host, producer, or editor to your show splits. You can also customise your episode splits and add your guests.

When adding a split, simply enter any Lightning Address, or enter your wallet details manually. We recommend using a Fountain Lightning Address as in your Fountain wallet we show you who sent the payment, which episode they supported, and any message attached to the payment.

You can add as many splits as you like. However, if you have lots of splits it may take longer to process payments from listeners. It's worth bearing in mind that listeners incur fees on Fountain for every split when they send a payment.

The steps you will take are slightly different depending on where you podcast or music is being hosted.

If you are hosting your podcast or music on Fountain:

To manage your show splits:

Go to your Dashboard then go to Settings
Go to the Payments tab

To customise the splits for a specific episode:

When drafting a new episode or editing a published episode, scroll down to Splits
Choose Customise your splits for this episode

If you are hosting your podcast elsewhere:

Once you have claimed your podcast on Fountain you can manage your splits in the Fountain app.

To manage your show splits:

Go to your Dashboard via the Main Menu in the Fountain app
Open the Page Menu and press Manage Show Splits

To customise the splits for a specific episode:

Go to your Episode in the Fountain app
Open the Page Menu and press Manage Splits
