How do I manage my paid subscription?
If you are on the Pro or Plus plan, you can launch a paid subscription for your podcast and offer benefits including bonus episodes, early access and ad-free listening.
Listeners can subscribe in the Fountain app and can choose to pay with Lightning or Bank Card.
To create your subscription, go to Settings > Subscription, enable subscriptions, and complete the required fields:
- Subscription title: By default this will be set to the name of your podcast
- Offer message: This is seen by listeners before they subscribe
- Monthly subscription price: Choose your minimum monthly price (listeners can pay more if they wish)
- Subscriber benefits: Choose from bonus episodes, early access and ad-free listening
- Thank you message: This is seen by listeners after they subscribe
When you're done, save your changes and your subscription will now be available on your show page. Now you're ready start publishing content for your subscribers.
Early access
Under Episode type, choose Regular episode, then choose Early access after you've uploaded your episode audio or video.
- Early access date: During the early access window, the episode will be available in Fountain but only playable if you are a subscriber. Choose the date and time that the early access window will begin, or publish the episode now.
- General release date: Upon general release, the episode will be available everywhere for free, just like a regular episode. You can schedule general release up to 7 days after the early access date.
- Purchase price: Listeners without a subscription can also unlock early access for this episode with a one time purchase.
Ad free
Under Episode type, choose Regular episode, then choose Ad-free access after you've uploaded your episode audio or video with ads.
- Ad-free audio or video: This version will be served to your subscribers on Fountain, and the version with ads will be available everywhere for free, just like a regular episode.
- Purchase price: Listeners without a subscription can also unlock ad-free listening for this episode with a one time purchase.
Bonus episodes
Under Episode type, choose Bonus episode:
- Episode audio or video: This version will be served to your subscribers on Fountain.
- Preview audio or video: Your preview will be available everywhere for free, just like a regular episode. We recommend keeping your preview under 2 minutes long and included a clear call to action to subscribe on Fountain to listen to the full episode.
- Purchase price: Listeners without a subscription can also unlock this bonus episode with a one time purchase.
